Beyond The Wilderness: Wood Elves

High Elves had lived in the magical capital city of the high elves high above the clouds, Fylanore. They were a great and powerful faction, intelligent and proud, but they had a flaw: they were thinking that they were the most important in existence. They often overlooked all other races with disdain; they were thinking that their lives were more important than those of dwarves or humans. They were always looking down on everyone else; they were haughty and mean. And they were so sure that they were better than everyone else that they started to believe it themselves. They also didn't bother to learn about other races, which made them very ignorant of what was going on around them. Despite their indifference to other cultures, they proclaimed their hospitality was open to all. Yet over time, it was revealed that their welcome was much more expressive toward those who were seen as powerful and respected. They thought that no one could match their level. For all their beauty and elegance, they beame incredibly arrogant and dismissive throughout the centuries, of those who didn't share their lofty status.

The story of the Wood Elves began with a group of High Elves who were tired of the arrogance and disdain they saw in the eyes of their fellow high elves. They decided they'd had enough; they wanted to get away from the city, get back to their origins who love and wants to involve in nature itself, but they also wanted to be part of a community. The immigration adventure began with a troop ready to embrace the unknown as they stowed their gear and daringly stepped into the wilds.

It wasn't long before they found themselves in a beautiful forest full of animals, plants, and other creatures. There were no other people around—just them and nature itself. It was amazing how beautiful everything looked and they have never considered getting back to their home city again. It was pure love that they felt with this new life right away! So, they started to live deep within the forest, where they started growing their crops and hunting for food. They had no need for fancy cities or buildings: they were content with living amongst the trees, able to climb them at will and live on top of their branches. They had no need for gold or jewels; all they needed was each other and their home in the woods.

The elves who made up this group were some of the most skilled craftsmen, healers, and musicians in all of Fylanore. At first, they didn’t need war or combat training because their focus was on art and beauty rather than battle prowess. They spent their time making beautiful objects out of wood, stone, and metal; creating medicine that could heal anything from small cuts all the way up to big wounds; and playing music so sweet it would bring tears to your eyes.

Then, in time, their skin started to turn green. They couldn't help but wonder if it was something about the forest that was causing this change, or if it was just an effect of being exposed to so much nature. But they were okay with this change if it meant they could get used to the forest and start over their beautiful life there. After some time, they were known for their greenish skin and pointy ears, which are often covered by hoods and cloaks made from leaves and mosses. Their hair was usually dark brown, though some were also with blonde or red locks. Their eyes were typically grayish-blue in color, though sometimes they can also be green or yellowish-brown. They also began to live much longer than high elves do, it seemed like they lost most of their connection with their ancestors and they started to root more with the forest itself. Eventually, they started to call themselves “Wood Elves”.

The forest could be a dangerous place, too! With the large predators, poisonous plants, and dangers coming from other races that threatened their survival. They knew they had to protect themselves from these dangers. Some of them learned how to heal themselves from the poisons and diseases of the forest, and some learned how to defend themselves from animals! Their clothing is mostly made from vegetable fibers; it is usually worn loose over their bodies so that it does not interfere with their movements when they fight with bows and arrows against enemies who come into their territory looking for trouble.

Wood Elves turned themselves into warriors, gaining strength from the earth itself. They had trained for years to defend their home against any evil that would try to take it away from them. They turned into archers who could shoot arrows with such accuracy that they could hit any target they wanted! They learned how to fight better than any other race; they became masters of war dance and bowmanship.

They built their own capital city, Esy Flenora, deep within the forest so that no one could get through. They lived there peacefully, giving back as much as they got from the nature around them. Wood Elves always had been in harmony with their surroundings, and no other race could match their ability to move through the branches as easily as walking on solid ground. Despite their peaceful nature, The Millennial Wars drove them to fight and now, many Wood Elves live as valiant defenders of the forest, repelling invaders and warding off those who would seek to bring ruination for their own amusement.
