Just like life itself, the nature of THEIA consisted of both a war and a balance of good and evil. And naturally, those who left the high elven capital Fylanore with the quest of merging with nature, were not solely pure and angelic as one would expect from these majestic beings, some of them had an evil beast within them that needed to be fed.
So, these elves went into the darkness of the forest and sought power in the woods, instead of following their hearts and minds like most of their kind. They did not care about peace or harmony; instead, they cared about gaining power over others. They had no respect for nature or life—they only cared about themselves and their own selfish desires. They killed animals and destroyed trees so they could make themselves better than others by having more power than them due to all the valuable things they had stolen from nature's beauty itself!
As a response, nature itself played hard on them, and it became too much for them to bear: their surroundings rotted and their rivers dried up, leaving them no place to live but in the darkness of the swamps. After that, the part of the forest where they lived was known to be haunted. The area started to be called Dark Swamp by others, but they were calling it Camlea. It was not a place where people can go for rest or respite from everyday life; instead, it was an evil place where only those who are truly evil can survive. Wood Elves called their former kinsman “Darkwoods” because they believed that there was no way for them to change their ways and become good again; they became corrupt and eviler with their power.
Darkwoods were the Wood Elves who were no longer benevolent protectors of nature; now they were creatures who preyed on other races for food and resources. They had become vicious predators who would stop at nothing to get what they wanted from anyone who crossed their paths. Dark Swamp became their home, and they grew strong there. As time went on, they began to change again: first slowly and then more quickly until they were unrecognizable as elves at all.

Darkwoods used ancient dark magic in order to control others and make them do their bidding. They used these powers to create an army of mind-controlled creatures which they used to terrorize other races throughout the land, but especially the Wood Elves, they tried to conquer their old brothers and sisters in the woods. The witches of Darkwoods would perform rituals on other races, changing them into creatures with horns and claws and wings—creatures that could use magic in ways no one had ever seen before. They built armies of lost creatures in their swamps, making abominations within their surroundings. They became known as demons, or devils, or even monsters.
Dakwoods used their newfound powers to attack any creature who dared enter their forest. When someone entered their domain, they shot out branches to grab them from the path. The Dark Swamp was filled with imps who torment anyone who dares to enter their woods. There were creatures living deep within the forest, ready to attack any who dare walk near them. They became violent and aggressive toward anyone who entered their territory, torturing them and killing them mercilessly. The rest of the races were terrified of what had happened to their friends, so they decided to leave the Darkwoods alone —they avoided the Dark Swamp as much as possible.
